INTRODUCTION

A computer is an electronic machine that  can solve different problems , process data , store and retrieve data and perform calculations faster  and efficiently than humans .

C - computer , O - operating , M - machine , P - particularly , U - used for , 

T - trade , E - education , R - research .

• calculating device - electronic device - multimedia device

Multimedia : Two or more than two ways to present your information .

• Computer are used for a variety of application such as banking application, desktop publishing , word processing , scientific research work , weather forecasting  , ticket reservation etc .
• In case of computer , data is transferred from one part to another through electronic circuits . such as wire , switches and circuits .

Introduction of computer :

• A computer is now a very familiar device and each one of us can recognize the use of computer in various fields .

• The word computer has been derived from the word "Compute " which means to calculate .

• When computer were first introduced they were assign  to perform arithmetic calculations at a very fast speed .

• But now days computer are also used to perform non mathematical works.    so it is very difficult to define a computer as a calculating device .

• "A computer is a  machine that is able to take information , do some work or make changes  to the information , process it and bring the result on the screen ."
